WORCESTER, Ma. — First impressions can be important and Cage Fighting Xtreme made a great one this past Saturday night in Worcester as promoter Linda Shields, New England’s first female promoter in martial arts, sold out the Worcester Palladium for a total of 17 MMA fights.
The action was non-stop from 7:30 p.m. to midnight as the amateurs as well as the pros delivered some thrilling TKOs, and in the main event, journeyman Rigo Dominicci (5-7) proved tougher than originally anticipated for veteran Mike Littlefield (6-3).

The venue was full, the fight card was large, and the matches themselves had everything from great jiu-jitsu and powerful TKOs to a few appearances by some up and comers worth noting. It was an inaugural fight card worthy of taking place in Massachusetts amongst so many other talent-filled promotions, and while it will take some time to earn a reputation which rivals organizations like WCF, Combat Zone and Untamed … CFX is off and running and has made an excellent first impression.
